Music has always been a big part of my life. In no way do I have any talent but I love it. Growing up the radio or record player was always on. Saturday nights, my brother and I would call in our favourite songs to the local radio stations. Now we are provinces apart and you just have to pull up YouTube or iTunes to hear the song you want but we still meet at concerts. Dancing with Dan to the Allman Brothers at Madison Square Garden or slowly following Neil Young down the streets of Halifax are two of my most cherished memories. I like to think that my brother’s impeccable musical taste was inspired by yours truly but, regardless of who is responsible, the boy knows how to pick out a good record. Here are my favourites that he has given me over the years:
- Derek and The Dominos: Layla
- Allan Brothers: Live at Fillmore East
- BB King: In London
Now DJ put the record on!
